Privacy policy

Who we are
Sitera is a website platform made and run by Dreamers (Dreamers Media Pty Ltd, ABN 19 679 585 936), a web studio in Sydney, Australia. In this policy "we" and "us" means Dreamers. You can reach us about anything here at sitera@dreamersworld.app.
We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Two kinds of people, two roles
Businesses that use Sitera. When a business signs up with us, we hold its details and the details of the people on its team. For that information, we decide how it is used.
People who use a business's website. When you buy from, contact or subscribe to a business whose site runs on Sitera, that business decides what it collects and why. We store and process that information for the business, on its own separate backend, and only to run its site. Its own privacy policy applies, and it is the first place to ask about your data.
What we collect
- Business and team details: names, email addresses, phone numbers, business address, and sign-in records for the console.
- Billing details: your plan and payment history. Card details are handled by our payment provider, Stripe, and never stored by us.
- What a business stores on its site: pages, products, orders, customer details and addresses, enquiries and messages, and its newsletter subscribers.
- Newsletter records: each subscriber's email address, name if given, when and where they signed up, and the wording they agreed to; and for each newsletter, whether it was delivered, bounced, opened or clicked, and any unsubscribe or complaint.
- Technical records: basic server logs (such as IP address, browser and time) kept for security and to fix problems.
This website (sitera.dreamersworld.app) sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising trackers. The Sitera console uses one sign-in cookie so you stay signed in.
How email works on Sitera
- Order and account emails (order confirmations, shipping updates, refunds, invitations, account notices) are sent because of something you did, to the address you gave.
- Newsletters are sent only to people who signed up or ticked a box asking for news. Customers who did not opt in are never added.
- Unsubscribing takes one click from the link in any newsletter, or from the Unsubscribe button your mail app shows. It takes effect straight away and is kept, so you are not signed up again by a later import.
- Bounces and complaints: an address that bounces, or that marks a newsletter as spam, is taken off that business's list automatically and is not sent to again.
Businesses on Sitera must follow the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) and our terms: no bought or rented lists, and a clear sender and unsubscribe in every marketing email.
How we use information
- To run the platform and each business's site, shop, inbox and emails.
- To bill businesses for Sitera.
- To keep the platform secure, and to prevent spam, fraud and abuse.
- To give support when a business asks for help.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use a business's customer or subscriber data for our own marketing.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run Sitera: cloud hosting and storage, an email delivery provider, and payment providers (Stripe and, where a business chooses it, PayPal). They handle data only to provide their service to us. Some of them store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States, and we choose providers with strong security and privacy commitments. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep a business's data while it uses Sitera. When a business leaves, we return its data on request and then delete it, except records we must keep by law (such as tax records). Unsubscribe and suppression records are kept for as long as the business's list exists, so a person who opted out is never emailed again.
Security
Every business runs on its own isolated backend with its own database and file storage. Data is encrypted in transit, console access is by sign-in, and Dreamers staff reach a business's console only to support it.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. If your information is held for a business on Sitera, we will pass your request to that business or help it answer. Email sitera@dreamersworld.app and we will reply within 30 days.
If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and tell businesses on Sitera about any important change by email.
